Description
Operation of a domestic wastewater treatment plant
1. Filling
Initially, the wastewater enters a pre-treatment chamber (precipitator) where trapped contaminants are trapped. All incoming wastewater is collected in a precipitator until the start of the aeration phase.
2. Aeration
Through the contact pipe, a portion of the effluent enters the batch reactor. The reactor undergoes biological wastewater treatment with the help of so-called “activated sludge” – microorganism flakes. Wastewater is agitated (denitrification), aerated, and agitated (decomposition and nitrification of organic pollutants) at set intervals. To prevent excess activated sludge from forming in the batch reactor, a small amount is pumped back to the pre-treatment chamber. The sludge accumulated in the settler is disposed of during the maintenance of the device. If no new wastewater arrives within the next 6 hours, the treatment plant automatically switches to energy-saving mode.
3. Precipitation
Upon completion of the aeration, a two-hour dormant phase begins in the reactor. Activated sludge settles to the bottom and treated wastewater remains at the top of the reactor. During aeration, part of the activated sludge penetrates into the clean water pump and settles in it. To prevent sludge from entering the treated wastewater, the unit is equipped with a patented automatic flushing system that cleans the pump in three short pulses.
4. Release
n the discharge phase, treated water is pumped out of the unit. A new cleaning cycle is then started.
