How does Rainy’s Rainwater Harvesting System work?
When the well is dry, we know the worth of water – Benjamin Franklin
Rainwater harvesting is a very efficient way to use rainwater and to save up to 50% of drinking water. The accumulated rainwater can be used not only for lawn or garden watering but also for home appliances, e.g. for washing machines or toilet flushing.
So, but how does the rainwater harvesting system work?
- Rainwater flows from the roof of your house via pipelines and is collected into underground tank SNIGO. By entering the tank, water passes via the in-tank filter and calmed inlet. The filter removes leaves and other impurities from the water.
- The tank is also fitted with a submersible pressure pump with an integrated pressure switch. The pump is turned on automatically in case of water demand., i.e. when the watering system, the washing machine is on, or the toilet flushing is actuated.
- The level sensor inside of the tank is monitoring the water level. If there is a lack of rainwater, the sensor transmits a signal to the controller, which is actuating the solenoid valve to fill the tank from the drinking water system.
- Water excess is disposed of to drainage system via an overflow siphon. The component separates the tank from the drainage pipeline thus preventing bad odor. The siphon allows removing impurities floating on the water surface (e.g. pollen).
