What makes ENEKA oil/water separators different from other manufacturers?

Customers often ask: and how are SEPKO oil/water separators different from other manufacturers?
Our answer is: one of the main functional advantages of Sepko is the exclusive coalescing material.

What is that coalescing material?

Different coalescing materials are applied in oil/water separators of most manufacturers. This material serves to merge and separate fine oil particles. Unfortunately, to reduce the prices of their products, some manufacturers use cheap coalescing materials. The main disadvantage of these materials is their rapid clogging by solids that inevitably flow with the stormwater. A typical example of this type of oil separator and clogged coalescence material are shown in Figure 1.

Clogged oil/water separators. And what happens then?

The problem is that the coalescing material clogged with solid pollutants does not perform its main function – the separation of oil contaminants. Failure to detect clogging in time can cause inseparable oil contaminants to leak from a non-functioning oil/water separator, which can cause the contamination of the open water bodies. Even if a clog is noticed, the user of such an oil/water separator has no choice but to call for the maintenance company. This must empty the oil/water separator and wash (or replace) the coalescing material. And what if some of this maintenance works will be needed once a month, or even more often? Here, the consumer inevitably faces increased maintenance costs.

How do ENEKA oil/water separators work?

As already mentioned, SEPKO oil separators manufactured by ENEKA UAB use a coalescing material with exceptional properties. It compacts and separates oil products very efficiently due to the large active surface area (about 450 m2/m3). The material is made of a special polypropylene with oleophilic (oil-attracting) properties. The water is treated during its passes through the entire thickness of the material, i.e. about 30 cm.

The coalescing material of SEPKO oil/water separators is resistant to clogging by solid contaminants due to its special self-cleaning design. Solid contaminants packages. In this way, cleaning the coalescing material is required no more than once a year. This ensures low maintenance costs for the SEPKO oil/water separator, thus saving our customers cash! Thus, when choosing an oil/water separator, the customer should pay attention not only to its purchase price but also to future maintenance costs, which can vary significantly.
