Description

Fits to every application

For surface runoff from petrol stations, parking areas, road sections.

Treatment of industrial wastewater from car washes, product washing processes and degreasing liquids.

High quality production

A body of SEPKO oil/water separator is manufactured from polyethylene by the modern process of rotational moulding. The production method is ensuring the proper raw material composition, machine settings and optimised process parameters. Therefore all finished products are made with the highest quality and consistent accuracy. The automatic production is preventing failures caused by a human factor as well.
Polyethylene material used for the production can be easily recycled reducing waste and environmental impact. Tanks made from PE are corrosion-proof, their smooth surfaces are ensuring the simple cleaning during servicing.

Low installation costs

The oil trap can be installed at great depth from the ground without the need for additional reinforcements, I .n. Concrete casing or concrete load-bearing plates.

Stiffness guaranteed

SEPKO provides a perfect load bearing capacity by keeping low weight of the product. The great stiffness of the separator body is achieved due to the advanced design and special ribbed structure. SEPKO is designed to withstand the heavy ground and groundwater loads without any significant deformations.

The main advantages of the rigid body is that SEPKO may be installed in a significant depth from the ground surface without any additional concrete slabs or casings etc. Yherefore the time and the cost of installation works of the separator are significantly reduced.

Coalescing material

Features of the coalescing material: – special oleophilic (oil attractive) polypropylene providing years of trouble-free service; – Oil droplet’s rising distance is reduced to 6 mm. The shorter distance means lesser rise time-traveled to coalesce which will result in better removal rates; – Coalescing surface (approx. 450 m2/m3) is more than 3 times larger than other commonly used methods; – Resistance against plugging by solid particles due to self-cleaning design; – 99,99+ % removal of free and dispersed oil regardless of micron size.

Telescopic manhole shaft

A ladder is integrated in the manhole shaft providing the personel an easy and safe access into the tank.

Telescopic shaft is designed to adjust the manhole cover flush with the ground surface in the range of 200 mm. The manhole shaft is designed for connection with standard polyethylene or cast iron covers for load classes from A35 to D400 according to standard EN 124.

The manhole shaft is equipped with two special seals. The first seal i s located between tank body and manhole shaft, the second seal is between manhole and telescope. The seals ensure that no liquid droplet will penetrate into the tank or from the tank.

SEPKO Operation

Oily water influent enters into the separator tank underwater surface through the inlet pipe (1). Water flows to the first primary settling section (2) where solids particles and bigger oil droplets are removed by gravity. Then water is directed through the coalescing media (3). As water passes horizontally through the coalescing modules pack, the oil droplets rise vertically until they contact the material. By contacting the oleophilic surface, the oil particles are captured and coalesce with other particles. As the process continues, bigger oil droplets will be formed and driven upwards by gravity until they reach the water surface. As solid deposits accumulate on the coalescing modules they increase in mass and eventually slough off to the bottom of the separator where they accumulate until disposal. This self-cleaning feature significantly reduces the frequency of cleaning of the coalescing media. Clean water after treatment is discharged through outlet pipe (5). SEPKO is equipped with an automatic closure device (4) calibrated to float on water and sink in oil. This floating valve closes the water outlet when the amount of accumulated oil on the water surface has reached the maximum level.

SPS flow control chamber

SPS flow control chamber is designated to restrict the rainwater flow entering the oil/water separator. It is ensuring that nominal flow through the separator is not exceeded. The chamber is installed before the separator. During the heavy shower, the nominal flow rate of the Sepko oil/water separator is maintained and excess water flow is directed to the bypass line.

MPS sampling chamber

MPS sampling chamber is a part of each oil separator system employed to monitor the quality of treated water. The chamber is installed in the outlet flow of the oil/water separator. it serves for taking the water samples and connecting the pipeline. The sampling chamber is usually equipped with a shut-off valve preventing from oil passing through the system and polluting the watercourses in case of emergency.

Integrated bypass line

SEPKO oil/water separators can be equipped with an integrated bypass line. The bypass line is dividing the peak rainwater flow in case of the heavy shower: 1/3rd of the average maximum rainfall flow is directed to the SEPKO oil/water separator, and the excess flow goes via bypass. Although the bypass line can be used with separators of the different nominal sizes it is a particularly cost-efficient solution for smaller flow rates.

Bypass systems

Bypass systems can be used when it is considered an acceptable risk not to provide full treatment for high flows, e.g. where only small spillages may occur and the risk of spillage is small.

The system is dividing the peak rainwater flow in case of heavy rain. Only 1/3rd (in some cases even less) of the average maximum rainfall flow is directed to the SEPKO oil/water separator, and the excess flow goes via bypass. Considerable investment cuts may be obtained by using a bypass system, in comparison with conventional full retention treatment systems. The bypass system allows employing of smaller and more cost-efficient oil/water separators.

According to the environmental studies, the biggest part of the oil and other pollutants is washed off at the beginning of the shower while the complete rainwater flow is treated by the oil/water separator. Therefore, although only a part of the peak flow is being processed, the bypass system is ensuring a very efficient oil removal.

Oil / water separators for high flow rates

The SEPKO-D series oil/water separator is most often used for the treatment of rain (surface) wastewater from large areas – street sections, car parking areas, airport areas, etc. The separator removes contaminants from sand, mud and oil pollutants.

• The body of the SEPKO-D oil/water separator is manufactured of an extremely strong polyethylene by the modern process of rotational moulding.
• The body of SEPKO-D is resistant to ground, high groundwater and transport loads.
• Load classes SN2, SN4 or SN8 are available.
• Capacity from 150 to 500 l / s.
• Integrated sand-mud precipitator.
• Oil/water separator meets the requirements of LST EN 858-1 for the first class separators, achieving a residual oil concentration after refining <5 mg / l.
• Typical concentration of oil pollutants in the inflow up to 100 mg / l.
• High-efficiency coalescence modules are used to separate oil products.
• There are no replaceable parts in the oil/water separator. Coalescence modules are reusable and can be easily lifted and flushed under high water pressure during service.
• Automatic flow shut-off to prevent accumulated oil pollutants from entering the environment. The shut-off also acts as a non-return valve during flooding.
• Oil, sludge, and high level of water alarms powered by solar power with GSM function, contacts for connection to BMS / SCADA system
• The separator can be used with an integrated bypass system
